Brykaliuk added to Team West WJAC camp roster

Two members of the Estevan Bruins have a shot at playing in the World Junior A Challenge.

Rick Oakes announced this afternoon on Twitter that Matt Brykaliuk will join Tanner Froese at the Team West evaluation camp, which runs Sunday through Tuesday in Canmore, Alta.

Oakes is in his first year of a role that sees him nominate SJHL players to attend the camp.

It's high praise for both considering Froese has played one SJHL regular season game and Brykaliuk, none.

This tournament is basically the World Juniors for the Junior A level and it would no doubt be an amazing experience.

Oakes also suggested defenceman Tyler Kauk for the evaluation camp, but he was not selected.

In other Bruins news, forward Ben Johnstone suffered a concussion during last night's win over Weyburn. It's not clear how much time he'll miss but it sounds like a mild one.
