I'm hoping to finally get a full showcase recap on the blog tonight, but for now, here's a full list of the teams that were represented by scouts this weekend.
NHL: LA Kings, Calgary Flames, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators, Vancouver Canucks, Colorado Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs, Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers, Washington Capitals
NCAA: North Dakota, Union, Manhattanville, Michigan Tech, Minnesota-Duluth, Norwich
WHL: Tri-City, Medicine Hat, Swift Current, Vancouver
CIS: York University
Other: Dakota College (Bottineau), Keyano College (Fort Mac), Royal Military College (Kingston), Hockey Ministries
Its sad that only 4 WHL teams and 1 CIS team were represented. The fact that only four Div 1 NCAA schools were represented as well shows there is a deep, deep problem with the SJHL and its reputation.
ReplyDeleteI will point out that this is a list of REGISTERED scouts - the one's who actually signed in at the showcase office. There were plenty more scouts there, many of whom do not want to have this listed as an official visit as they are only permitted to watch players a certain number of times per season.
ReplyDeleteAlso, not that it was a great showing for the CIS, but I will clarify that RMC IS in fact a CIS school, as well there was representation from Mount Royal who are entering the CIS next season.
Is MRC really going into CIS next year? Like for sure? If so, that's great for them, they and SAIT have been trying to move up for years.
